FAQs

  • The dress code for guests on the wedding day is black tie / formal for men and formal / cocktail for women.

For Men we kindly invite you to dress in Black Tie / Formal attire. Black tuxedos with dress shirt and bowtie are welcomed (and will be worn by the groom and best man), as are other formal suits with a bowtie.

For Women please wear whatever you feel comfortable in but Cocktail Dress/Suits or other formal dress is recommended.

For Kids we recommend whatever they feel comfortable in but would love it if they would also join the adults in formal wear.

On the day you may wish to wear some thermals underneath your suit / dress to stay extra cosy! There will also be a short walk between venues (5-10 minutes max) so we would recommend wearing a coat and warmer sturdy shoes to the ceremony and bringing heels / formal shoes to slip into upon arrival (there will be places to store any bags and coats at each venue).

  • Chilly! The average temperature in Reykjavik in December is 0 to -2 degrees celsius, although we will be in doors on the wedding day we would recommend bringing some warm clothes for the remainder of your trip!

On Thursday evening we have a booking at Grandi Flatey Pizza. There’s lots of activities you can do in the surrounding area.

There’s Whales of Iceland to marvel at life-sized whale models, or try the Fly Over Iceland experience (using the code PINKICELAND for a 10% discount).

For a unique and thrilling experience, check out the Lava Show, where you can witness real molten lava up close. (Please note that the Lava Show experience takes an hour and needs to be pre-booked online.)

Check out the Marshall-House where The Living Art Museum, Kling & Bang Gallery and I8 are located.

At Grandi you can go to Grandi Mathöll Food Hall for a delicious lunch from a variety of local vendors. Or consider visiting the Omnom Chocolate Factory and Shop to taste some seriously colorful and exciting Ice Cream creations that are somewhere between a dessert and a Sundae.

  • A couple of our personal highlights, Ramen Momo, Flatey’s Pizza and Hlemmur Matholl.

  • Warm clothes, we would recommend layering up and bringing some walking boots / grippy shoes as it might be slippy.

Most people wear boots / walking boots around Reykjavik and there are always places to hang up coats inside.

  • The wedding day will be held in Reykjavik City Centre, more information on how to get about on the day will be confirmed as soon as possible.

You may wish to wear a coat over your outfit as there will be plenty of places to store them in each venue.
